Samuel Gawith Commonwealth is a 50/50 blend of heavily steamed Virginias and Latakia, cut to a ribbon. It’s medium in strength with a full flavour of smokiness with some sweetness, woodiness, leather and a little spice. There’s no fooling anyone, this contains a lot of latakia, which is great if you like the smoky leaf. If you like your smokiness to dominate but still like to taste some other flavours too, this is for you. It’s not too complex but it is reliable. It behaves well, burns a charm and leaves your pipe relatively dry.
