Comoy’s Cornish Mixture is, at heart, an aromatic type pipe tobacco but don’t let that sway your opinions of this tasty treat; it’s flavours are natural. The addition of cinnamon, chocolate and clove mingle effortlessly with the Burley, Cavendish and Virginias to give a warming, gentle likeness to a spiced teacake that, as you smoke further down the bowl, becomes toasted and spread with a rich butter.

Opening the tin and just smelling the contents, which are well presented fine shreds of mid to golden brown ribbon, gives satisfaction to the nose. There are aromas of raisin, sweet fruity bread dough and just a hint of cocoa. The mixture goes into the pipe easily and doesn’t take too much concentration to pack perfectly. It lights easily thanks to the optimal moisture content and burns thoroughly for a reasonable length of time.
