E. P. Carrillo Allegiance Confidant Toro Cigar – Single
Normally other cigar makers go to E.P. Carrillo and get them to roll their cigars, however this time Perez-Carrillo let Oliva cigars, based in Nicaragua, produce the Allegiance range for him.
The Confidant was the result of a collaboration between the two cigar making companies, and as you would expect it’s impressive. Cigar Aficionado has recently (Jan 2024) rated it at 95.
A box pressed cigar, medium to full bodied, the Confidant uses a rich brown Ecuadorian Sumatra seed wrapper, the binder leaf and the filler leaf are both from Nicaragua.
The profile is creamy with notes of pepper, leather and roasted coffee mingle with hints of burnt oak, some nuttiness and vanilla.
For those who appreciate Carrillo cigars this is an excellent, well-made toro that will give around 70 minutes of smoking pleasure
