Comoy’s Irish Mixture is a mild, sweet offering from expert blenders who have incorporated delicious Black Cavendish and flavoursome Virginia. They have somehow, as if magically, managed to produce a whiskey presence, though the addition of a whiskey topping or casing is not mentioned. It is assumed that there is no whiskey added and that it may be ingenious blending coupled with the mind’s expectations of an Irish blend. The flavours of good honest tobaccos are forefront, with raisin sweetness from the Black Cavendish and hay-like hues from the Virginia. The whiskey element, be it real or imagined, is very subtle as if the mist of the spirit has been circulating in the air while the tobaccos matured.

The mixture looks very good quality with fine black and brown ribbons of almost equal proportions. The scent is sweet, fruity Black Cavendish with fig and dried berries amid meadow hay, damp from the morning dew. There’s no problem filling your pipe as these convenient little strips of leaf pack really well. Lighting is as easy as smoking. It burns thoroughly without biting the tongue, leaving a relatively clean bowl at the end.
