Comoy’s English Mixture Pipe Tobacco is a welcoming English blend. Well rounded and not at all harsh. This is a great mixture of Latakia, Turkish and Virginia tobaccos that has been done right. Sometimes an English blend can be overpoweringly smoky with Latakia, especially to a beginner but English Mixture is friendly. If you think friendly means boring, you are mistaken! The flavours here are intricate, woven to a patterned fabric that dances in the breeze. To be more literal, the Latakia is nice and woody with a little smokiness that the Turkish gives spice to and the Virginia mellows, sweetens and rounds. As you smoke, the tastes you get evolve and change.

Open the tin for the first time and get a whiff of that sweet, woody, smokiness that caresses your nasal senses. If you’re familiar with English blends, you know the darkness of the leaf mixture usually indicates how strong a smokiness there will be when alight. On the contrary, this blend is quite dark, with flecks of golden brown but you can smell it’s not as pungent as it looks.
